WITH PROVIDENCE
Though Katie & Patrick both went to Providence, their paths did not cross until 2015 in New York.
A Saturday afternoon in April, they finally met at the 79th Street Boat Basin. Fortunately, they had the immediate encouragement of a mutual friend, Kate, and an afternoon on the West Side turned into late night conversation on the East Side.
That year brought Coney Island nights, trips "down The Shore," and weekends on Cape Cod and Nantucket.
Untenable Uber fares commuting between her home in Hoboken and his apartment on the Upper East-East Side eventually brought Katie to the Upper West Side in the Spring of 2016. That fall, Patrick moved west across the park to join her (but allowed scant closet space).
In July 2017, Patrick planned a weekend "on Cape Cod" - a routine trip as his family lives in Hyannis and hers in Chatham. Instead, the flight took them to Nantucket. The next day they took an over-sand trip to Great Point Light in a rented Jeep and returned to town (after a celebratory stop at Millie's) set for life.
